The Missouri Composers Project, run by the Mizzou New Music Initiative, awards composers in multiple orchestral and choral categories (learn more here).
CCO works with the winning orchestral composers and performs their music, and singers in the Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri perform the winning choral pieces.
The concert is free and open to the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear new music and celebrate current composers!

About Columbia Civic Orchestra
Columbia Civic Orchestra is a volunteer group in Columbia, Missouri, dedicated to providing enjoyment for its members and audiences through presenting and preserving high-quality symphonic music. CCO has been playing for over 30 years, aiming to achieve the following goals:
- to develop and inspire local talent in classical, orchestral, and chamber music
- to bring together people of all ages to share art and friendship
